Halloween Haunts and Jaunts

Halloween Haunts and Jaunts Halloween is only a few days away, and this is the weekend to take part in fall fun and frightful delights!

No matter your preference for jolly jack-o-lanterns or spooky soirees, there are all types of haunts and jaunts taking place throughout the Triangle for you to enjoy. 

Take the little ones out to pick some pumpkins, sip on cider, and find the way through a tall corn maze and then grab a sitter and round up some fright-loving friends to get your ghostly ghoul on some area fear farms and haunted houses.

Fridays, 1 to 6 p.m.; Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Sundays, 1 to 6 p.m.

$18 per person; children 2 and under are free

Want to wander through a giant cornfield? Naylor Family Farm is for you. Featuring a 10-acre corn maze, a farm animal petting zoo, gem mining, an inflatable jump pad and other kids attractions, your mini monsters, and silly ghosts will have great fun.

 

Halloween Hayrides

Clayton Community Park

Friday, Oct. 27 from 4 to 6 p.m.

$5 for children 12 and under; parents ride free with each paid child; children 2 and under are free

Gather up your superheroes, princesses, skeletons, and witches and take them on a Halloween hayride at the Clayton Community Park. With story stops along the way, your children will have fun as they ride through Halloween Land. Fun games, candy, and attractions will also delight.

The Town of Clayton will also host a Halloween Movie Night on Friday evening at dark. Grab some blankets, drinks, and munchies and watch Hocus Pocus under the stars at Clayton Town Square at 110 West Main Street.

Your costumed children will enjoy taking part in this spooktacular event! They can fill their Halloween bag with treats and sweets trunk-or-treating in the Center's parking lot, walk through the Spooky Bus, hear some ghost stories, and participate in creepy crafts.

$5 per couple and $2 each additional child

Dress up the whole family and get ready to boogie down and dance at the Halle Center. Fun music, costume contest, games and Halloween tricks and treats will make this event a big hit!

 

Halloween Pumpkin Fest at Fearrington Village

Fearrington Village in Pittsboro

Sunday, Oct. 29 from 6 to 10 p.m.

Fearrington will be aglow with more than 80 intricately carved pumpkins tucked into the Village Center gardens. McIntyre's Books will host spooky story times at 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. The pumpkin display will remain up through Halloween on Tuesday, Oct. 31.  

 

Hallow-Eno

Free event for families with children ages 12 and under

 Spend Halloween at Eno Park with campfire stories and songs, hayrides through the woods, face painting and festive crafts. Hosted by the Durham Parks and Recreation Department

Sunday, Oct. 29, Monday, Oct. 30 and Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 7 to 11 p.m.

$27 all-inclusive ticket or $13 for single attraction ticket per person

Clayton Fear Farm's Haunted Scream Park gets its name honestly. A farm full of creepy attractions that will seriously scare, you are going to want to prepare yourself for a night of fright. 

 

Haunted Forest at Panic Point

Named North Carolina's top haunted attraction, Panic Point is a must-visit for thrill seekers ready for a chilling experience. Six haunted attractions filled with gruesome characters and creatures ready to give you the scare of a lifetime. 

 

Harvested Farm Nightmares

Friday, Oct. 27, Saturday, Oct. 28, Monday, Oct. 30 and Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31 starting at 7 p.m.

$17 per person

Promising to give you nightmares for days, this haunted attraction has the menacing mayhem you seek for a Halloween fright. Be prepared to see zombies, monsters and crazy creeps lurking in the darkness.  

 

Haunted Hillsborough Sanitarium

Alleyway behind 106 S. Churton Street in Hillsborough (next to Dual Supply)

Halloween, Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.

A seriously scary scene awaits you down the alley behind our Coldwell Banker Howard Perry and Walston Hillsborough office on South Churton Street. Make it through the spooky Sanitarium to earn your treats!
